In the time of remote work, virtual meetings are life savvy for the professionals. So many popular tools like Zoom, Google Meets, and Skype are being used by the working professionals to host virtual meetings, webinars, and lots more. In the same segment of this digital transformation, Microsoft Teams is a great initiative by Microsoft. Microsoft Teams allows the users and their group to share the documents, and edit documents, which also include live chat, have quick video meetings. Also all these are safe and in a private environment.
If you haven’t used Teams yet, you can find the Teams web client from Office 365 home page. However, most of the users are recommended to use the dedicated desktop client app. If you don’t have the desktop client app installed on your laptop or PC, you can download it from the Microsoft’s official site.
As of now, only working professionals and the employers are able to create account on Teams. If you want to create account as a student for a Class, you will have to reach out to your instructor or teachers to create the Team and then invite you as student. They can add you either a member or as owner.
Microsoft Teams is a collaboration application, which helps the users and their team to stay organized and have virtual meetings, instant chat and conversations in one platform. Here’s a quick introduction of Microsoft Teams and it basic features.
Teams – You can find channels, which belongs to you, also you can create your own channel. Inside the channels, you can check for the spot meetings, start conversations, and also share files.
Meetings – Under this option, you can see everything like the overall schedule for the daily or weekly. Alternatively, you can schedule a meeting. This Meetings calendar can also be synced with your existing Outlook calendar.
Calls – In case, your organization has set the calls up, you are able to call anyone using Teams. This helps you even if the others are not using Teams.
Activity – Under the activity, you can catch up all your unread messages, responses, @mentions, and many more.
You can use the command box, which is available at the top to search. Using this search box, you can search for specific items, people, take and manage quick actions, and also launch apps.
